Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

…And now these three remain: faith, hope, and love. But the greatest of these is love.

Re-enrollment

Summer is coming up quickly and we are starting to make exciting plans for our children. It is very important that you take a moment to fill out the re-enrollment form so your child is guaranteed a spot for summer and fall. Re-enrollment forms, with the annual $50 re-enrollment fee, are due back by Friday, February 26th. We will open enrollment to the public starting Monday, March 1st. Thank you.

Valentine's Day

We will be celebrating Valentine’s Day on Friday, February 12th in the preschool classrooms. Please bring enough Valentine cards for each child in the class. Please take a moment to sign up for a treat to bring to the party. Sign up sheets are posted on the doors of each classroom.

Enrichment Classes

The Gymnastics class and Music class continue to be a hit with the preschool children. Mrs. Frevert, Ms. Nancy and Mr. Dave provide a fun learning experience every week.

Rainy Days

The children are coping with the rainy weather probably better than the rest of us. Indoor playtime in the Fellowship Hall has included new games (ex: Duck Duck Goose), parachute play, dancing to music, tricycle rides and bouncing rubber balls. From the smallest toddlers to the PreK class, teachers are offering lots of movement and creative play while the playgrounds are unavailable.

Spare Clothing

Please make sure you keep a spare outfit in your child’s cubby. Whether it’s a diaper failure or spilled soup at lunch, kids often get wet or sticky and feel more comfortable in dry clothes. At this time of year, update the outfit to long sleeves and long pants, and maybe an extra sweatshirt.

New Faces

We are very excited to welcome Laura Connolly and Jessica Chui to team-teach the 3’s class. They are both excellent and loving teachers. We are looking forward to all the wonderful gifts they will bring to our program every day.

We also have five (5!) new babies and toddlers who’ve started within the past month. Fortunately, we’ve had toddlers “graduate” to the Preschool, making room for new babies. You’ll also see a new face in each of the 3’s and 4’s classes. Please give a warm welcome to the new parents and children you see around the school.

“I am really excited … to have the opportunity to get to know all of you parents.”

What’s Happening in the Rainbow Room?

We are excited to be back from our Christmas break. The children are doing a wonderful job learning. I am really excited to have them in my class and have the opportunity to get to know all of you parents.

The children have really gotten busy with our activities, which include learning new songs and rhymes. In the month of January the children learned about the winter season. We also have incorporated winter into our art, circle, and story time.

The month of February will be very busy and exciting. We have many different activities planned to go along with a variety of themes. We will be celebrating Valentine’s Day, talking about friendships, and focusing on Presidents’ Day.

So far we have been having a wonderful time in the Rainbow Room and we look forward to an exciting rest of the year!

Thank you,
Ms. Nandita

News from the Flower Room

The 2 year olds in the flower room came back with enthusiasm and excitement from their winter break. We look forward to having a wonderful fun-filled year ahead!

In our class, we offer a wide variety of activities that foster all areas of development. Our usual morning time starts with cognitive and sensory activities like puzzles and PlayDoh. We also focus on developing their fine motor skills by providing them cutting, gluing and drawing opportunities.

Daily circle time is everyone’s favorite and includes Number and Letter of the Week, nursery rhymes, bible stories, music, and books. Outside play is a great opportunity for the children to use their gross motor skills and enjoy well equipped playground.

We also want to take this opportunity to welcome Nico and Vivienne to our classroom.

We have been enjoying our weekly themes like, winter and polar bears. We are excited about our fun Valentine projects in February.

We are so blessed to have such wonderful loving children and families.

With lots of love, Ms. Maryam and Ms. Pallavi

Parent teacher conferences

Just a quick reminder that parent teacher conferences for the 4’s are the last week in February, and the 3’s the first week in March. If you didn’t sign up please come by the office so we can schedule you a date and time. We will be sending out reminders for those who did sign up.

A Word from Ms. Jessica and Ms. Laura
About the Butterfly Room

Hello everyone! For the month of February, we will be doing a few fun Valentine’s Day activities. These will include cards, arts and crafts, activities, and take home Valentine Projects. We will also be having a Valentine’s Day party. This will be held on February 12th at 11:30pm. Throughout the month we will continue doing our weekly themes and work on the letter, shape, and color of the week.

We are ready to have a FANTASTIC February, and we are excited to be sharing it with you and your children!

The Froggie Room

In the month of January, we had fun turning our classroom into a winter scene with igloos, Eskimos, snowflakes, penguins, snowman, polar bears, etc… We also had a nursery rhyme theme which gave us opportunities to visit Mother Goose. We read stories like The Three Little Pigs, Humpty Dumpty, Goldilocks and the Three Bears, and The Gingerbread Man. We also made our own Gingerbread Man.

For this month we covered letters Q, R, S, T and had art projects based on these letters and numbers. Our children are all able to print their first names.

The kids are having a blast in music class. They are enjoying learning new songs, movement, and instruments every week. The gym class is in full swing too.

We are excited for the month of February, as we plan to decorate our classroom with Chinese New Year and Valentine’s Day art. We welcome all the parents to stop by and see your child’s creation.

Ms. Lyn & Ms. Chandana
