Re-enrollment

Summer is coming up quickly and we are starting to make exciting plans for our summer program. It is very important that you take a moment to fill out the re-enrollment forms. This will guarantee that your child will have a spot for summer and fall. There is a re-enrollment fee of $50.00 for children that are continuing on into the next school year. Also there is a summer fee of $125.00 for full time students, three day a week students are $95.00, and two day a week students are $62.50. This will be to help cover the cost for all the fun-filled events that we will have. Summer fee will be on your June statement. The re-enrollment forms are due back by February 25th.We will open enrollment to the public on the 28th. Please stop by the office if you have any questions.

Ms. Stacey’s Maternity Leave

As you all might have guessed Ms. Stacey is expecting a new baby. She will be on maternity leave from February 13th to April 18th. We are all very excited and anxious for the new arrival. Please take a moment to stop by the office to wish Ms. Stacey well.

Parent teacher conferences

Just a quick reminder that parent teacher conferences for the Threes and Fours are coming up. If you didn’t sign up, stop by the office and we can schedule a time for you to meet with your child’s teacher. We will also send out reminders as your conference approaches.

Student art file

Please take the time to check your student’s art folder at least once a week. Your children are very proud of their work and love to show it off.

Spare clothes

Please make sure you keep a spare outfit in your child’s cubby. Just in case there’s a diaper failure or spilled soup at lunch. Children often get sticky and feel more comfortable in dry clothes. At this time of the year, the spare clothes should be long pants, long sleeve shirt, maybe an extra sweater, and most definitely extra socks and underwear.

Enrichment Programs

Are you aware of our wonderful enrichment programs that your child maybe involved in? There are several!

Mondays the children in the Butterfly room and Froggie room are involved in our Hot Shots Sports program. Hot Shots is a physical education motor development program. Hot Shots strives to provide a safe and positive environment in which your child can grow physically, mentally, socially, and emotionally, through physical activity and instruction. It is of the utmost importance to us that each child experiences success and has fun.

On Thursdays the Froggies and Butterflies have Science with Ms. Stacey. She leads the 3’s and 4’s into the amazing world of science. Children weigh, measure, cook, experiment, grow plants, and explore their 5 senses in a fun-filled half hour of discovery!  Topics include weather, the solar system, our bodies, land, and marine animals, plants, and bugs.

Fridays we take the children from the Rainbow room, Butterfly room, and Froggie room to enjoy music and movement with Ms. Barbara. This music class is fun, creative, and developmentally appropriate for  all ages. Ms. Barbara offers a variety of music experiences for the whole child. The children dance, learn about instruments, play instruments, sing and participate in movement activities.

Spring Portraits

It’s time for spring pictures. Break out your prettiest Easter wear and your best smile. Flip’s photos will be here Friday, March 2nd for spring photos. Individual pictures will start at 8am; class pictures start at 10am.

Room Updates

Rainbow Room

We were so excited to see all the children back in the New Year. We had a wonderful time sharing our holiday stories with one another.
We look forward to a lovely February full of friendship and love. We are excited for our classroom Valentines party on February 14th at 11am. The children will exchange cards and enjoy classroom treats.

Also in the month of February we will be talking about Presidents Day and healthy eating (nutrition). We’d like to say one last thank you to all the parents who purchased toys and activities from the giving tree. The children are enjoying all their new things.

We’d like to welcome two new faces to our classroom, Lily and Shreyas, we are so happy that they have joined our preschool family.
Love,

The Rainbow Room Teachers

Butterfly Room

The first of 2012 flew right by! We started the New Year very positively and full of enthusiasm. The children jumped right back into our schedule. In January we discussed and explored the following themes: The world, Japan, India, and Mexico. We learned how different how different people and families come from different languages and eat different foods. Our letters of the month were J, K, and L.

Our fieldtrip to see Peter Rabbit was so much fun! The children transitioned very smoothly and successfully, showing us that “big” fieldtrips are definitely possible. Our next planned trip is to Pizza My Heart in March.

February’s themes are: Presidents Day, friendship, kindness, and Valentine’s Day. Our letters this month are M, N, O, and P. We will continue to discuss and expand on our colors, numbers, days of the week, month, year, etc.
We look forward to a wonderful month full of love and joy.
Love and learning,

Ms. Laura and Ms. Jessica

Froggie Room

The first month of 2012 passed in the blink of an eye. We had a wonderful time on our field trip to see Peter Rabbit. Thank you to all the parents who helped out.

The Froggies had a busy but fun month of January. We talked about Chinese New Year and its meaning. We also decorated our classroom with our monthly art work. We had one week dedicated to colors where we learned to mix colors to make new ones. We talked about rainbows and what colors they were made from. We also covered letters Q, R, S, T, and U and numbers 16, 17, 18, 19, and 20.

We have planned a fun filled month for February. Our themes will be Valentine’s Day, Presidents Day, things that go, and weather and sky.
We are also excited to welcome back Ms. Lyn!!

Ms. Lyn, Ms.Chandana and Ms. Nandita
