Pre-K (4 Year Old Program)
The Pre-K program at Good Samaritan is for children who will turn
5 by December 2 and move on to Kindergarten in the following fall.
The teacher/student ratio is 1/12. The group size is no larger than
12.
Our Pre-K program is designed to prepare children for the next step
in schooling, Kindergarten. Children in this program are exposed
to the literacy, math and science concepts necessary for success
entering Kindergarten in the fall.
We expect children in this group to be able to function as a group.
Participation is highly encouraged when a group activity is being
presented. We recognize that 4 year old children are active and have
many interests, so each day consists of a variety of quiet and active
activities as well as group and individual choice activities. The
teacher is a facilitator in the child’s learning and provides
guidance not instruction.
The curriculum structure recognizes the need for the children to
master certain academic concepts prior to Kindergarten as well as
the need for 4 year old children to have independence and choice.
We believe our program provides a balance of structured and independent
activity.
The primary goal of our 4 year old program is to provide developmental
education for our children that will prepare them to move on. At
Good Samaritan we believe that our primary responsibility is to provide
a safe and trusting environment for children and their families.
Come to visit us to see if Good Sam is the right program for your
child.
