Good
Samaritan Infant Program
The Good Samaritan Infant Program was opened in January 1997, in
response to the community need for quality infant care. Our program
is licensed for 8 infants 6 weeks to 2 years. The ratio of the infant
room is 1 to 4. The program is based on the individual needs of the
children. Teachers take time to learn about each child’s routines
at home and use that information to find a routine at the center
that meets each child’s needs.
The children are exposed to activities during the day that will
encourage development in all areas. Teachers work to provide activities
that are interesting and challenge children enough to encourage moving
to the next step without frustrating our little ones.
Each day our infants are exposed to many enriching activities. Teachers
sing and dance with children, read stories, talk to the infants,
provide outdoor playtime, and much more. All activities are done
with children when the opportunity presents itself during the day.
Teachers, when not engaged in care giving activities such as feeding
or diapering will sit with children and take the opportunity to sing
or play with the children.
