Good Samaritan Preschool offers hands-on, developmentally appropriate programs that foster a child’s development in the areas of physical, social, emotional, cognitive, language, and spiritual growth. Our philosophy at Good Samaritan is based on the following basic principles:
- Children learn through active exploration. Our program provides an environment that encourages children to actively explore and manipulate materials.
- Children initiate their own learning. Classroom environments at Good Samaritan are carefully structured into activity centers. Children are encouraged to explore freely in an open classroom environment.
- Learning comes from open-ended experiences. Children’s imaginations, reasoning skills, and self-confidence are developed by creative problem solving. The emphasis is on discovery and the learning process.
- Adults are facilitators of children’s learning. Teachers ask questions and encourage discussion from the children in the school. Teachers create environments that make learning fun and interactive.
